Analyzing what are Remy hair extensions

Remy extensions has developed into a common phrase to use as an indication of quality for selling hair extensions that often has nothing regarding reality plus more to do with marketing. The processing includes a research lab that individuals often use to help us see whether a particular hair processing method or product used upon the hair extensions is in fact beneficial or not. Experts occasionally will help businesses in the market determine the claims and authenticity of the real human hair they purchase. Just about every distributor and manufacturer on the market claims they've got Remy hair extensions, but very few do.

Recently, a brand new customer of Hair extensions requested they analyze some Remy hair extensions she bought in another company that claimed the hair was 100% Remy virgin unprocessed real human hair. She'd spent a lot of time and funds using the company and was frustrated using the complaints she was receiving from her customers. They took her to the lab so she often see them preparing the strands for microscopic analysis and see the evidence for herself. To create set up a baseline, they asked her to pull a strand of her own hair from her scalp to examine.

What Remy extensions should look like:

The initial step in determining if Remy extensions are really Remy, with cuticles and eager root to tip, would be to examine the roots, mid-shaft and ends of the hair fiber. It's fairly normal for cuticles being missing or worn down near the ends of the hair strands, but thick and healthy nearby the roots. We captured an image of the hair fiber about mid-shaft with 3500 high magnification so that as you can see in the image below, there are cuticles scales in normal condition. The fractured edges are a result of brushing, combing and other mechanical forces. The spots and globs upon the cuticles are hair care treatment residues. In some areas seems like the layers of cuticles are nearly welded together that is normal with either conditioner build-up and/or hair sprays. Other than some cosmetic and basic weathering, this is very normal cuticle hair which is often styled.

Instance of what's NOT Remy hair extensions:

Using the same magnification, experts examined a specimen of medium brown hair extensions (supposedly Remy hair extensions) also about mid-shaft with the hair strand. The absence of cuticles was glaringly obvious. Sometimes when examining processed hair, experts usually have some layers of cuticles left. This hair strand was thoroughly stripped that people could see deep cuts in to the endo-cuticle. Towards the top of the photo the light is reflecting off of the coating that's sporadically covering the hair. This type of coating mimics shine and smoothness and when washed away you are left using the true face with the hair. This strand is a prime instance of the Non Remy hair extensions commonly sold through many manufacturers. Even though the cuticles have been chemically stripped from your hair strand, it will still tangle as a result of roughened fractured state from the strands. Without the cuticles to give protection this hair will quickly become dull, dry and break with every brushing.
